Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah (born in India) is a playback singer as well as an actress and musician. Her main work is as a performer and music composer for Tamil as well as Malayalam-language movies. Her acting debut was in Tamil film Pachaikili Muthucharam and also made her Malayalam debut with Annayum Rasoolum. Andrea Jeremiah grew up in an Anglo-Indian home at Arakkonam Tamil Nadu. Andrea's father was an attorney at the Madras High Court lawyer. Andrea is the youngest sibling of the researcher assistant Leuven, Belgium. Jeremiah was raised in Chennai and went to National Public School and graduated from Women's Christian College. Andrea began learning classical piano when she was eight. Andrea was a huge geek and dreamed of becoming a psychiatrist. She performed in the Jackson Five style troupe Young Stars when she was 10. This group formed her singing and composition career. While at college days, she also was an artist in the theater and participated in various stage productions arranged by The Madras Players. Andrea was also The Student Senate President at Women's Christian College. Andrea began her stage career as a part of Girish Karnad's Nagamandala. In 2006, she was part of the leo coffee commercial with Shiva. She also appeared in the series which was broadcast on Podhigai. She has appeared in various shows across India. The brief appearance was during the climax of Kanda Naal Mudhal (2005). When she sang a tune in Gautham Vasudev's Vettaiyaadu she was asked to appear the leading female characters in his upcoming project Pachaikili Muthucharam. This film was a film adaptation of the novel by James Siegel Derailed, with Andrea portraying Kalyani the wife of a homemaker who gets involved in an affair, and is threatened with blackmail. Andrea took on the role of Kalyani when Simran Shobana, Tabu as well as other actors were asked to audition for the role. It was first released in early 2010. It was first released in Venkat's Mankatha in 2011 which was a film that featured several actors. Annayum Rasoolum which is a romance film produced by Rajeeev R. that was released in 2013, marked the actress's Malayalam debut.
